Recent Events and Gifts

On June 23, 2011 Ohio Lawyers Give Back was happy to once again have the opportunity to award over $2.1 million dollars to 20 charities at an event held at WKYC Channel 3. Since 2002, over $24 million dollars has been distributed to charities in the State of Ohio through Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A.

Ohio Lawyers Give Back is pleased to announce that July 18, 2008 marked the largest cy pres distribution in U.S. history. Dworken and Bernstein structured a $52 million dollar class action settlement to provide over $14 million to charity.

Over 85 charities have benefited from cy pres, each with programs that include providing thousands of meals to hungry and homeless families; research to help defeat diseases such as leukemia, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy; alcohol and drug abuse counseling as well as treatment and prevention to name just a few.
