 $225,184.04 Cy Pres Directed By Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A. Hannah's HomeHannah's Home is a maternity home for single, pregnant young women. Every client has an individualized case management plan and actively takes part in establishing goals to prepare her to give birth to a healthy child and to become a responsible financially independent head of the household. Currently we have five residents and another approved admission. This will reach our limit until a child is born or we are able to purchase an additional van. The home is approved by the State of Ohio to house ten residents so we plan to expand our occupancy as soon as transportation is available. Much of the education is done on site, however many of the programs and classes are off campus.A typical day at Hannah's Home includes many activities, such as GED class and tutoring, physician appointments, counseling, working part-time, just to name a few. Housing is an acute problem in our area and discharge planning begins the day of admission. Here their total situation is assessed and they are involved in setting goals that are realistic and we work to enable them to attain them. Our programs are designed to promote financial independence and the development of good parenting skills. In the past year, three of our residents have completed the state tested Nursing Assistants Course at Auburn Career Center and passed their certification tests. Five have received GED. One of our former residents graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Medical and Dental Assistance. This past month we received a copy of a speech given by one of our former clients who shared that had she not been able to come to Hannah's Home, she would have faced the possibility of having her child while serving a jail sentence. Today, she is living independently and successfully with her child, is a competent mother and is employed. She continues to visit us and shares with residents on a regular basis. Cy Pres Award DonationA sizeable gift to Hannah's Home would enable us to purchase an additional van and increase the occupancy of the facility.
