Hanna Perkins, founded in 1951, is a comprehensive child development facility with a mission of service, training, and research. The Center includes a school for children ages 15 months to 7 years, a Child Therapy Clinic serving children and adolescents, a research center that considers child development issues, an extension program that provides training and consultation for early childhood educators and caregivers and the Resource Center, which is our bridge to the community. All of the work done by Hanna Perkins Center is based on the concept that children have an inner emotional life. It is a deeper understanding of that inner life that helps them grow.

Cy Pres Award Donation

This very generous donation will have immediate impact on the general operation of our Parent/Child Resource Center. We have plans to implement a parenting group for first time mothers. Understanding that first time parents have challenges and concerns, our parenting group will offer a specialist who is highly qualified to help those parents with the daily challenges as well as celebrate the pleasures of embracing a child into the family. We will be able to develop our summer programs to include youth from under serviced or disadvantaged areas by offering scholarship assistance. We would like to expand Our Youth Leadership Program, for ages 12-18. This program is geared toward offering preventive measures by engaging youth in positive guidance experiences that help them make good decisions about what they will do or want to do in their lives.
