And Nationwide Children's has responded. With breakthrough scientific discoveries, innovative treatment procedures and technologically advanced surgical techniques. Today, Nationwide Children's Hospital is the fifth largest, third busiest children's hospital in the nation. In addition to being among the busiest, Nationwide Children's is honored to be ranked on Child Magazine's list of the Top 10 Best Children's Hospitals in America and U.S. News & World Report's 2008 list of "America's Best Children's Hospitals." With unprecedented growth of more than 700,000 annual patient visits today, up from 400,000 visits only a decade ago, by 2012, we expect almost one million patient visits annually. Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children's Hospital Each day in this country, an average of three children die as a result of abuse. The Center for Child and Family Advocacy offers hope and healing as it treats child abuse and domestic violence victims, providing long-term therapeutic support for them and their non-offending family members. The first facility of its kind in the nation, the Center brings together key agencies and services under one roof including a dedicated child abuse medical team, therapists, law enforcement, child welfare workers, prosecutors and domestic violence advocates to provide comprehensive treatment for these families and to hold perpetrators accountable. The Center also provides prevention, education, advocacy and research.
