NELA's related nonprofit public benefit organization is working for a change!

Together they are working to advance equality and justice in the American workplace by:

Ensuring that all workers receive fair and equal compensation when they are unlawfully treated in the workplace, as well as safeguarding their recoveries from unfair taxation.
Enhancing workplace protections on the basis of disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and genetic information.
Keeping the courthouse doors open by fighting against involuntary arbitration of non-union workplace disputes, and preserving the right to a jury for working people.
Protecting retirement, health, and disability benefits earned by workers and their families.

The Institute addresses these issues by through employee rights advocacy, non-partisan research on issues affecting the workplace, public education, fellowships, scholarships, innovative legal strategies and policy development.

Cy Pres Award Donation

The Institute will use the cy pres funds to establish: (1) The Employee Rights Advocacy Fellowship Program (which provides law students and new lawyers the opportunity to work in private plaintiff's employment law firms across the country); (2) The Employee Rights Advocacy Scholarship Program (which will enable legal services, public interest and private lawyers who represent workers to attend NELA's renowned continuing legal education who otherwise could not afford it); and (3) a National Litigation Strategy Project designed to advance equality and justice in the American workplace.
