Adoption Network ClevelandAdoption Network Cleveland,founded in 1988, provides services, support and programming for all those touched by adoption and foster care. We recognize adoption as a complex, lifelong and intergenerational process with ongoing issues for all those whose lives it touches. That is why we offer programming and support for everyone, no matter where they are on the adoption continuum. We are there when a family is considering adoption and needs information on how to begin the process. And we are there when a teenage foster child needs a forever family. It is this dedication to community service that led Adoption Network Cleveland to be chosen to serve as the lead agency to address a crisis in the Cuyahoga County child welfare system. In 2002 there were 2,000 children in the Cuyahoga County public child welfare system waiting for permanent placement. In response, the civic leaders of the Community Vision Council selected Adoption Network Cleveland to be the lead agency for the Adopt Cuyahoga’s Kids Initiative. Launched in January 2004, the Kids Initiative gave rise to a very successful public-private partnership, bringing together 14 adoption agencies and the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. As a result of this partnership, between 2004 and 2008, 382 children have been placed with forever families.Cy Pres Award DonationThe cy pres monies Adoption Network Cleveland received through this gift will help sustain the Adopt Cuyahoga's Kids Initiative to ensure children in danger of aging out of the welfare system have resources, guidance and support for finding forever families.website: http://www.adoptionnetwork.org/ |
